1, Classification of mainstream floor tiles (by material/process)
Polishing brick
Features: Whole body porcelain, polished surface, high hardness, strong wear resistance, high cost-effectiveness.
Disadvantages: The anti slip performance is average, and it is easy to seep dirt (requiring anti fouling treatment).
Applicable to: living room, hallway, balcony, and workwear lobby.
Fully glazed tile
Features: The surface has a glazed layer, rich colors and textures (realistic imitation of stone and jade), and high glossiness.
Disadvantage: The wear resistance is slightly lower than that of polished tiles.
Applicable: living room, bedroom, light luxury/modern style decoration.
Whole body marble tiles
Features: Consistent texture on the surface and inside, simulating natural marble, high-quality texture, capable of processing chamfers and grooves.
Applicable: Living room, foyer, large unit floor/wall to floor paving.
Antique brick
Features: Matte finish, good anti slip performance, retro style, dirt resistant and durable.
Applicable: American/pastoral/industrial style, kitchen, bathroom, balcony.
wood grain tile
Features: Imitation solid wood texture, waterproof and moisture-proof, no mold, easier to maintain than wooden flooring.
Applicable: bedroom, balcony, Nordic/wooden style.
Anti slip tiles (whole body tiles/matte tiles)
Features: rough surface, high friction coefficient, non slippery when in contact with water.
Applicable: bathroom, kitchen, balcony, and senior living room.
2, Core indicators for selecting floor tiles
wear resistance
For household use, choose level 3-4, and for entrances/living rooms with high foot traffic, choose level 4 or above.
Slip resistance
The kitchen, bathroom, and balcony must be selected with an anti slip grade of R10 or above, with priority given to matte/textured surfaces.
water absorption rate
Select ceramic tiles for the ground (water absorption rate<0.5%), waterproof and frost resistant, without hollowing or cracking.
Size Selection
Small space (kitchen and bathroom): 300 × 300mm, 600 × 600mm
Regular living room: 800 × 800mm
Large unit/transparent unit: 600 × 1200mm, 750 × 1500mm (more atmospheric)
3, Laying and maintenance tips
It is recommended to leave a gap of 1.5-3mm for tiling, in combination with beautiful seams, to prevent arching and dirt accumulation.
Do not step on newly laid tiles within 24 hours, complete curing takes 72 hours.
Wipe with clean water and neutral detergent in daily life to avoid corrosion of the glaze surface by strong acids and alkalis.
Polish tiles should undergo regular anti fouling maintenance to reduce color bleeding.
